Los Angeles native Alyse Wax is the daughter of a writer. So naturally, she rebelled and wanted nothing to do with the craft. Alyse spent a number of years as a television producer, working on shows like Big Brother, Hell’s Kitchen, Penn & Teller: Off the Deep End and Punkin’ Chunkin’ 2008. Eventually, however, she grew up and realized that following in her mother’s footsteps is not the worst thing in the world.

A chance meeting led to a job at, a top horror website and cable network. Alyse worked there for nearly seven years as a reporter and television critic, eventually becoming Associate Editor, before Kabletown shut down the popular site. Continuing with her passion for the horror and sci-fi genre, she is a regular contributor to SYFY WIRE. Other sites her work has appeared on include,,,, Fangoria Magazine,,,,,, and Deadly Magazine.
